Brief: Creating a social networking platform for creatives.

FOUNDER. SOFTWARE DEVELOPER. DESIGNER. STRATEGIST.

Lylac is a social networking platform I’ve founded, designed, and built from the ground up, created specifically for creatives. It’s a space where artists, designers, and makers can share their work, connect across disciplines, and build lasting creative networks.

Too often, creative people work in isolation, struggling to gain visibility or find the right support. Lylac is built to change that, by offering a dedicated environment for showcasing your practice, discovering others, and finding opportunities for collaboration. Whether you’re still at uni, just starting out, or freelancing full-time, Lylac is here to help you find your people.

At its core, Lylac is about community, not followers. It’s about creative exchange, trust, and momentum. You’re not just posting your work into the void, you’re entering a space shaped by like-minded people who understand the ups and downs of the creative process.

The vision behind Lylac is to support a new generation of creatives, to give them a platform that’s truly built for them. It’s still early days, but the goal is clear: to grow a network that’s not just social, but supportive, self-sustaining, and genuinely useful.

If you’re building, making, designing, thinking, Lylac is for you.

Brief: Creating a distinct brand identity and website.

WEBSITE DESIGN + DEVELOPMENT. BRAND IDENTITY.

I designed and built the Lylac website to reflect the platform’s creative energy through a modern, responsive experience. Built in Framer, the site uses custom animations, subtle transitions, and a bold visual language to bring the brand to life online.

Using custom animations and subtle transitions, I developed a layout that feels alive — responsive to movement, playful in tone, and visually linked to the app experience. It highlights key features and functionality, while drawing attention to the challenges young creatives face today around visibility, isolation, and finding meaningful work.

The site includes a blog section for interviews, spotlights, and updates — offering space for the platform to evolve and build stronger connections with its users. Every element was designed with performance, accessibility, and responsiveness front of mind, creating a confident and expressive digital presence for Lylac.

Brief: Designing a succinct design system for a mobile application for creative individuals.

UI & UX DESIGN. PROTOTYPING. VISUAL IDENTITY. MOBILE APPLICATIONS. DESIGN SYSTEMS.

For Lylac’s mobile application, I led the entire design process — from early prototyping and wireframes to final UI, visual identity, and design system.

My goal was to create an experience that felt intuitive and expressive, while supporting the complexity of a social platform built specifically for creatives. I designed with real users in mind — students, freelancers, and emerging artists — and translated their needs into a UI that feels human, navigable, and intentionally different from typical social apps.

The UX is deliberately minimal, allowing space for the content to breathe while guiding users through features with clarity and ease. The interface avoids visual clutter, putting users’ work, thoughts, and collaborations at the centre of the experience.

To ensure consistency and flexibility as the platform grows, I built a modular design system covering layout, components, typography, and interaction logic — allowing the product to scale without losing focus or identity.
